Ian began mining cryptocurrency in January 2010. In 2012, he left a career in aerospace mechanical engineering to mine full time, scaling his first farm to 40MW by 2017. He briefly led a top ten global mining pool before co-founding Pow.re in 2019. Pow.re builds and operates efficient Bitcoin mining infrastructure using renewable and stranded energy. The company also develops software to optimize mining operations and create financial products based on provable hashrate and energy-backed assets.
