Dr. Simran Chana is a Maxillofacial Surgeon, Materials Scientist, Designer and Educator. He is the Director of the Frontier Technologies Laboratory at the University of Cambridge — an ecosystem of societies concerned with novel technologies — where he leads interdisciplinary research into advanced technologies with industry partners. He contributes to global standards in AI/Web3 as a founding member of Cambridge’s Standard Blockchain Internetworking Protocol (SBIP) and through the Executive Committee of NANDA at MIT; focussed on open-web and AI agent interoperability. In 2023, he co-founded Interface Technologies — an open-web architecture integrating solvers and agents with blockchain protocols for abstracted, interoperable, intelligent systems. He has worked with many leading blockchain companies (e.g. Near, Polkadot, Binance, Solana), chairs the Cambridge Blockchain Society and co-founded the University Blockchain Association. He has been educated at global institutions (including London, Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard) and currently serves as a Technology Advisor to the Nobel Family.
